So...you don't want to go through the WHOLE "Making Money" tutorial in your SimCity 4 game, right? Well, I went through it and pulled out all the necessary information, and now I'm letting everybody else see it, too! Enjoy, and feel free to ask questions!
Making Money Tutorial:
*Add water ONLY when you have a positive cash flow and are ready for wealthier and higher density buildings. *Only place the first fire station AFTER the first fire. *Only place the first police station when crime becomes a problem. *Taxes are the main source of money. *The higher the tax rates and the higher the population, the more money the city earns. *If you want some more cash, you can experiment with the taxes, but don't set them too high! Your Sims will not tolerate that, even for a short period of time. *Lowering taxes for a certain group can make your city more attractive to that group. (Or the opposite way, if you wish) *Make local funding math your needs *When setting the funding for a school or hospital, set the "Student Capacity" or the "Patient Capacity" so they are just above how many students or patients the school or hospital has. And as the schools will get more students, and the hospital more patients, raise the funding so that the capacity is over the # of patients/students are in the building. This is a great way to save lots of money!
Also, you can check out this great tutorial!
