I did try once, after having Sims 2 for about a year - just to kind of relive the experience that got me started in this pastime. I had tried reinstalling but there was something funky with the key registration that kept the install from going properly. I saw a fix online for it, but it was more complex than my desire to go back and play the Sims 1 ultimately.
So yes, I had intended to at one point, but no, ultimately did not.

I've been reading through some of the post on this subject and I like many of you started out getting addicted after several months of persuasion from my kids, mostly my daughter Emma (who introduced TS1 to our house). Then TS2 hit the shelves and of course I had decided that I was getting it as soon as it did. And I did. I talked my husband out of his computer with the larger bites of hard drive and memory and all of that stuff. I played TS1 for several month after installing TS2, but finally decided I really did like all the really cool stuff that I could do with The Sims and their houses better. I uninstalled TS1 and never have gone back.
Now every once in awhile I have an urge to reinstall all those Sims 1 EPs and SPs, but quickly talk myself out of it. I actually had a couple of families that were millionaires with no cheats. I think though that everyone no matter what career they started with always ended up being Master Mind Criminals in the end. At least mine all did.
I think some time in the very near future I want to recreate my very first Sims house, and of course I would share it with everyone. Of course the furniture would be different. That is the one thing that I do miss about TS1 they had some really cool furniture and no of what I had was CC. I didn't have the internet hookup back in those days... Like it was really all that long ago....LOL....
Ok, I'm done raging on about TS1.

Oh I still play the Sims 1 here and there I almost wanna play all three at once... I have only had the Sims 2 and 3 at the same time and it went quite slow. Anywho I like the Sims 1 cause it was a simpler life back then... and it was easier to kill your Sims with fire...
