For some reason, whenever I try to install my game. The autorun doesn't appear. So I tried to start the installer manually and when it does that it does nothing. Some assistance is required. Help?

Since I see this is The Sims 1... which operating system are you using? Have you ever had The Sims 1 installed on that computer previously? Have you had problems with any other disks? Do you have CD-ROM? (Versus a DVD-ROM, I've never known a computer not to have both - but with newer technology, who knows)

Did you insert the CD into your computer?

I have a problem like yours, Katara. I inserted the disk and no autorun. I manually start the install process and nothing happens.
Turns out on my Windows XP desktop, the 16-bit system is corrupted and no longer works. Which leads me to believe that the installer for The Sims 1 is 16-bit based.
It installed just fine on my old laptop which was also Windows XP.
So it could be something like that that's caused the game to not install.

I Google'd and this is basically my case. I recently installed the sims deluxe on my laptop (this runs on Vista) I also install the expansion pack makin magic Later on i purchased other expansion packs since the sims expansion packs need to be installed in a particular order i uninstalled both makin magic and the sims deluxe When i attempted to install the programs again in the correct order as soon as i attempted to install sims deluxe i receive the error message "error getting sku number from register aborting installation" I have already gone to regedit and deleted all sims files and i have run the sims uninstaller also search my computer for any sims/maxis files and any files related to the sims deluxe and it's expansion packs and removed them also however i still get the same message... can any one give any further suggestions please The image was also from what I Google'd and I didn't the folder from my program files. I didn't the registry files a long time prior. I still get this error. Any ideas as to what is wrong here?

Try going through that again, step by step, slowly. Maybe you missed one of them? Those were a lot of registry entries to go through and you might have missed one or more of them.
