TSC - What we are, what we stand for.
« Thread Started on Sept 17, 2009, 8:10pm »

With all the issues going on lately I think it would be a good idea to restate what TSC's mission is and what we are as a fansite and what will and will not be tolerated here from this point forward:

What TSC is:

TSC (The Simmers Club) is a multi-site general Sims games fansite
This includes the sites of:
www.thesimmersclub.net (our main site)
www.tscexchange.com/chat/flashchat.php (our friendly chat room)
www.tscexchange.com (Sims 2 downloads)
www.ts3.tscexchange.com (Sims 3 downloads)
www.spore.thesimmersclub.net (TSC Spore)

Other Sites part of the TSC Family
www.tscradionetwork.com (TSC Radio Network - Cool hit music of the 90's and today, Online Pop Radio Station)
www.forum.tscradionetwork.com (TSC Radio Network community)

Our purpose is to provide a Friendly and welcoming place for Sims fans of all ages, nationalities, races, religions, Sims gaming experience level, etc. Everyone is welcome here, as long as you are polite, and respect our rules and members and want to be part of our community.

We will not tolerate idiotic drama here any longer, period,
TSC is a Drama-free zone , if you want to engage in petty drama there are plenty of sites out there that thrive on that sort of thing :P
We will also not tolerate any rudeness, or disrespect towards anyone here, this goes for members, staff and guests in our chat, everyone is welcome here, rude attitudes are not.

What we provide:
We provide unlimited space to upload your Sims games creations form The Sims 2 to The Sims 3 , we provide you with as much space as you want on www.tscexchange.com (Sims 2)
and www.ts3.tscexchange.com (Sims 3) to share your CC with everyone, we do not require registration to download, only if you want to upload.

We provide a safe and friendly place for Sims fans of all ages to discuss and help each other with Sims games questions on our forums, chat rooms, and exchanges.
We welcome everyone, (unless you are here to undermine TSC)
in our chat.

What we are planning for the near future

Tink, myself and all the staff here at TSC are planning on making some major updates to our site, our layout and making a commitment to make improvements to every area of TSC that members have expressed concerns and unhappieness over and making this site the pleasant and energetic community it used to be, in fact it is going to be bigger and better than ever before!

An apology and new commitment from CJ - Admin/founder of TSC

I apologize for my lack of advertising, updating that I used to do, offline issues with work, other online projects such as TSC Radio which continues to grow and expand its listener base, and other reasons that I won't go into in too much detail, but most people know, I have been unhappy with the direction of some things in the simming community since the release of The Sims 3.

I am making a commitment as of today and so is the rest of the staff here, we are going to bring this site back to the thriving and exciting and fun place it used to be and even more! I am asking everyone here to bear with us while we make the changes for the better, and stick with us while we bring this site back to what it has the potential to be. Remember all the friendships that have started here at TSC, and all the good times here! I know the last few months/this year have not been the best here at TSC, but I am asking you not to give up on us, I was about ready to over the past few weeks, but after thinking back on all that we have been through here over the past almost 3 years and all the good times and friendships that have started here, I am not ready to give up on all this site has to offer and all the potential we have yet to live up to.

Best wishes and hope to see you around!
CJ

;D

Thank you for posting this, CJ. I think it is definitely necessary and I could not have said it better (or nicer, for that matter!) myself! I have also been absent a lot lately and I apologize to everyone for that. I am here now though, and I will do what it takes to help get this site back to the friendly place it always was.

As you all know, there are a lot of haters out there that want to attack us at every turn. But this is nothing new. There has always been and always will be people that cannot deal with the success of others and will do all they can to tear us down. However, we do not play those kinds of games here, nor will we ever. Just ignore these kinds of people, and they will go away. They always do. CJ put it best when he said TSC is a drama-free zone. So haters and drama creators can take their business elsewhere. There is no place for people like that here at TSC.

I am personally also making the commitment today to help get back the TSC that we all know and love. All I can ask is exactly what CJ asked... that you all just please bear with us while we get things back to normal again and with the changes that are to be made.

TSC has been a part of me since it's very first day, and I love this place very much. I hope everyone that share's a love of TSC and all it is will stick with us and help us make this place all it was and all it will be.

I agree with both of you. TSC showed me how to recolor clothes and be a better builder in homes and Even making movies. If I didn't join here I probably wont do any of the things I do here.

This is a second home to me and Every one has great talents and I love to see their creations at TSC exchanges

Great Job Cj and Staff.

I wasn't going to post here, cause a lot of people haven't. But I just wanted to say that I am sorry if I have caused any drama to TSC. And also, Thank You CJ, for giving us this community and being such a devoted admin!! You are the best ;)

I know a lot of you know how much TSC means to me, and that I would do anything for CJ and TSC. I have met a lot of great people here, and have become very good friends with them...

With that said, all fan sites are going to have problems, specially one's that are as popular and as openly accepting to all ages and stuff, as TSC is. We as a community, need to work together, and not try to be against each other, each and everyone here is talented for their own reasons, and each and everyone here contributes in their own way to make TSC what it is.

I think the nit picking of people that are different, and maybe not as accepted is something that needs to be worked on. Not everyone is a spelling genius, not everyone is great at making Sims stuff, not everyone is exactly the same, and that is what makes TSC what it is... there are so many different kinds of people here, and the one thing that I love about TSC is that for the most part, everyone accepts people for who they are...

Yes, their are the ones that like to publicly point out others flaws. Why though? Why be mean, just cause someone is different than you or your friends.. Not everyone can spell great, not everyone knows grammar the way you are suppose to, and not everyone can create as well as maybe someone else.. Think of how you would feel if someone was doing that to you? Its just not nice, and the stuff that is being nit picked about, really is not that important.. Not everyone is going to get along, not everyone is going to like everyone, but if we work together, instead of apart, it will be a lot better place for everyone.

TSC is a big community, it is an overwhelming community, but it is also one of the most accepting and loving community on the internet.. I've been around to many as a lurker, and have never felt comfortable posting on them.. as I am sure a lot of others have..

All I am really saying is, we are a fan site for Sims, this isn't suppose to be serious and mean, its suppose to be for fun!! Its suppose to be where we can get together with a common interest, and maybe more, and share our experiences with others that feel the same about our hobby. I am not one that likes drama and bull pucky, I like to have fun, laugh, play games, enjoy life!! And for the most part have found others that feel the same here..

All in all, TSC is to me the best fan site created for Sims... it will always be where I call home, and I hope to keep the friends I've made here for a long long time. Cause what started out as just a common interest in Sims, the friendships have grown to mean a lot more to me.

I also, like Dragonfly, was not going to post here, because I wasn't sure we were meant to.

I was so happy to see CJ and Tink! I was so grateful to see CJ's post! I have felt so honored to have "Okie's Place" and have felt that this is my "Simming Home".

Dragonfly has said it all so well. Also, like her, I have been to many sites, joined many sites, but this has been the one place that I've felt comfortable and happy.

I also apologize for any drama that I have contributed to. That's not like me and I hope everyone will forgive me.

Dragonfly said it best, how I also feel:

"All I am really saying is, we are a fan site for Sims, this isn't suppose to be serious and mean, its suppose to be for fun!! Its suppose to be where we can get together with a common interest, and maybe more, and share our experiences with others that feel the same about our hobby. I am not one that likes drama and bull pucky, I like to have fun, laugh, play games, enjoy life!! And for the most part have found others that feel the same here.."

It is time to get back to enjoying our game. Enjoying creating, enjoying sharing, enjoying each other.

I'm looking forward to being a part of this site, now and in the future!

Luv,
Okie
